I've been spending the last several days in Erie, PA on a business trip. This is my first experience with the city and its residents. I have got to say I like Erie. The people are very friendly and kind, and the lake is majestic. I had the pleasure of meeting a wonderful woman who, unfortunately lost her sister recently. This sister had three cats who are in need of good homes. They have been neutered, are not declawed, but this woman said that she would get them declawed if that was an issue. If you know of anyone in or around the Erie, PA area who could open their home and heart to some little feline friends, they can email this woman at: ppopovich@eriecounty.org. while I've been here I've also gotten a better idea of what a service caseworkers provide. It's a sad state of affairs that we need to employ people to help children who have been sexually abused and neglected, but thank goodness we have people to do this. These good people are overworked and underpaid. Hey, I noticed that someone had declared yesterday "Encouragement Day". You were supposed to give words of encouragement to those you came in contact with. Well, we could certainly have our own "Encouragement Day". Speaking from my own experience, hearing a word of encouragement when you are down and out can be a lifesaver. I have another free and easy way to help make things better. Just go onto the Petition Site at: www.thepetitionsite.com . There you can find or start petitions for various causes. You can show your name or go on the petition as anonymous. These petitions are then presented to the appropriate decision-makers to let them know that a group of people feel very strongly about improving conditions. I also sign petitions for the Defenders of Wildlife. I don't have their exact address handy, but I imagine that you could log onto their site and find a way to participate. Well, I'm going to close for now. I want to log onto the Hunger Site and then hit the hay. Thanks for visiting.
